Project Description
Custom caps
Diabetes is an often invisible disease that affects those diagnosed every day for the rest of their lives. Conceived of by Christine Schaeberle, the Red Strider program allows those living with type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes to find their community. Adopted by the American Diabetes Association as part of their Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes event which occurs annually in over 150 U.S. cities, the Red Strider program needed an easy way to identify members visually so they could connect out in the real world. And what better way than dad hats?
On behalf of the American Diabetes Association, Shirtboy.com worked directly with our established factory partner in China to get exactly what the Red Strider program needed: a red highly-visible custom-embroidered 6-panel baseball cap that included a sponsor logo on the back, adjustable to comfortably keep the sun and rain off both men's and women's heads at outdoor events in all kinds of weather.
The Red Strider program needed an easy way to identify members visually so they could connect out in the real world. And what better way than dad hats?
The American Diabetes Association didn't have to deal with overseas manufacturing or fulfillment - we did that for them. They didn't even have to ship a batch of hats to each of the 150 events across the country over the three month period - we did that, too. In fact, it was so successful and painless, they came back year after year. In total we produced more than 20,000 caps annually over a 5 year period, allowing thousands of people living with diabetes to find their tribe.
